Photography for me is a way of disconnecting. It is meditation; I have to engage with the the light, the environment around me and the people within it. It is so completely mentally engaging it is like doing a sport. There is very little time to think about anything else.
Walking around photographing cities I get totally lost and perplexed by them. What are they? Are they objects or ideas?
I have started to use bridges symbolically to explore and question some of the facets of our lives in modern urban environments and how it feels to live in these metropolises of steel and concrete.
