INDIA

I had a desire to visit India for as long as I remember. The end of 2015 felt like the right time to take that trip. I wanted to push myself hard with this trip shooting as smartly as I could. This meant early mornings, early nights and sore shoulders from carrying a bag of cameras around. The challenge I gave myself was to try and create something more than a photo essay that I have done on previous trips.

I went through something of a design process with this piece, affinity mapping the images into sections that resonated with me. From there I was able to re-read through my notes, sound recordings and video that I made along the way. If there is one thing I learned about 'the process' after this trip it is to collect everything, draw and write while you are travelling. The more 'content' you have when you return the more you have to work with when you attempt to piece together a story.

The entire process has been incredibly reflective and I would urge anyone to have a go at piecing all the objects, thoughts and feelings from a trip together to create 'something'. These are my efforts from India.
